Rape Is Not A Metaphor But Salman Shouldn’t Solely Be Blamed For Thinking That It Is

The big kahuna of Bollywood, Salman Khan, has not only escaped his prison sentence because of India’s pervasive corruption but now he thinks he can also escape the ire of the public too who are justifiably pissed about him comparing the shoot of his latest POS movie, Sultan, to a woman being raped.

The fuck’s the matter with him?

In a country like India where, according to the Indian National Crime Records Bureau, a woman is raped every 1.5 hours, it is incredibly offensive to use the word in a blase way because it trivializes the horrific act.

However Salman is hardly the only one to blame, many casually use the metaphor to describe a grueling workday or exam. This is unfortunately just a byproduct of globalization. Indeed, if fingers were to be pointed, they should be at Americans who create desensitized idioms like this that are then unfortunately picked up by everyone around the world.
