In A Post-Trump World, The Return Of Koffee With Karan Is A Welcome Relief

Let’s not sugar coat shit. America is fucking fucked. I realize I keep harping on Lord Cheeto but my frustration reached a peak a couple of days ago when my friend Shayla Bailey, whose as sweet as pie, was pushed in a train station and told to “go back to Africa” when her family has been in America for over two hundred years (they were slaves).

Needless to say, I’ve been on an emotional roller coaster recently but I’ve tried my darndest to get myself out of this funk and one the things that’s helping is the return of Koffee with Karan.

As you all know from my posts, I don’t give two shits about Bollywood celebrity gossip but I enjoy getting my frivolous entertainment fix now and again. After all, I’m human.

And no one can deny the show is hella entertaining. Karan is a natural interviewer who coaxes the very best out of his A-list guests. Bollywood actors are usually very reserved and uptight when they’re being interviewed by journalists but because Karan is more of a friend to them than a journalist, they put their guard down and answer hard-hitting questions candidly, and more often time than not, hilariously.

The latest episode aired a few days ago featured two of the industry’s most intriguing personalities, Alia and Shah Rukh and they were a hoot and a half. The two’s juxtaposing personalities makes good television.

I don’t know who Karan has lined up for his next episodes but I’ll be watching, if not only to distract me from reading the stream of distressing posts my American friends are publishing on Facebook.

The Bollywood chat show couldn’t have come at a better time.
